Matcha Breeze

Published by platecom at 20 September 2023

Below, we share the recipe of Matcha Breeze moctail, which was created by Chado and Food Project Istanbul to cool down with pleasure in the hot summer months and took its place in the menu of Chado Teashops in the summer of 2019, as published in the June issue of Alem magazine.

MATCHA BREEZE

With Matcha Breeze, the dominant taste of Matcha gets a refreshing effect with the mint in Moroccan Mint and is softened and enriched with Milk Oolong tea and almond milk.
MATERIALS:

  • ½ spoon of Chado Matcha tea (Average 2 g)
  • ½ spoon of Chado Moroccon Mint blend (Average 2 g)
  • ½ spoon of Chado Milk Oolong tea (Average 2 g)
  • 160 ml hot water
  • 100 ml almond milk
  • 80 ml sour apple juice
  • 2 spoons of honey

PREPARATION:

As Chado, we generally choose the cold brew method for more intense and rich flavors. Instead of brewing with hot water in a short time and cooling it down, we prefer to brew it in cold water for a long time. However, since this recipe includes Matcha tea, we will use the hot brewing method to prevent bitterness.

Add approximately 80 °C water to the Matcha, Morrocon Mint and Milk Oolong teas in the quantities specified above and brew for 3 minutes.

Stir with a spoon several times during brewing.

Then strain (remove) the tea leaves from the water and add first the sour apple juice and then the almond milk and mix again.

Sweeten it by adding honey.

If you have time, you can chill it in the refrigerator, or if you want to drink it immediately, you can mix it with ice in a shaker and serve it.

Note: The measurement is for a large glass presentation.

Enjoy your meal!
